Most effective way to understand contemporary culture is to analyze the trends of its youth

The whole analysis is being looked from the point of view of an Indian. India is a land of diverse culture and strong family bondage. Till date, the word of an elder is carried like a word of GOD. Here, we still live in joint families and decisions are never taken individually. So, trying to understand the culture by analyzing the trends of the youth would only give us an ambiguous picture altering the reality with superficiality.

If I take my own brother for this study, who stays in USA for his bread and butter, then there he is totally depended on chunk food and machines to do his work, while the same person has an altogether different attitude, when he is in India. Here, he is more responsible, takes others into consideration while finalizing anything. His funky outlook changes into more into a family man here. If we consider him for our study, we wont be able to generalize it for the whole community.

I would also emphasize on the fact that still 65% of the Indian youth is still staying in villages who has a sharp contrast to the youth of the same age staying in cities and urban areas. The attitude is much more aggressive and fights are a frequent scenario for someone from village whereas professionalism prevails in the urban community. If someone tries to study the youth and the trends they are following, then he would only get an image that cant be generalized for the whole community.

While concluding the issue, I would just state that youth can represent the society but they cannot determine the culture that reflects the attributes on which a society is build.
